Victor Hotel

When venturing out to this Warehouse District locale, expect modern furniture with retro flair in an old freezer building made to look like the lobby of a European hotel. The neon Victor Hotel sign, which was used back in the day at the club Shelter, comes from an SRO. Music ranges from motown to disco to modern-day hits; art displays and black & white photos on the walls rotate; drinks are aimed at those looking to lounge in a sophisticated atmosphere geared towards a more mature audience (read: late 20s and up). An upscale sushi bar provides not-so-typical bar food for noshing.

Jerry Kleiner (he also co-owns Gioco, Red Light, Opera and Marche) told us, "I build these places because I want a place to hang out." Though after settling into the 'hood, we've found fashionistas and scenesters pack the place, giving it a holier-than-thou vibe on weekend nights. Beware the doormen and clipboard holder; they'll make anyone wait.
